Staff
Matthew was born in Tulsa, OK and raised in Northeast Kansas where his father served as an ordained elder in the Kansas East Conference of the United Methodist Church. After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, KS, Matt enlisted in the U.S. Army (Infantry) where he served for 5 years. During that time, Matt's parents transferred from the Kansas East Conference to the Oklahoma Conference, where they continue to serve actively to this day. Matt is a veteran of the Bosnian Conflict maintaining six generations of family serivce to our country.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 2002, Matt earned his B.A. degree from Rogers State University in Claremore, OK and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. Matt has served United Methodist congregations in Durant, OK (Associate Minister), New Milford, NY (Student Local Pastor), and Mobile, AL (Student Minister) prior to being appointed to Stroud, OK in February of 2009. Matt and his wife Kate, a native of Florida, have three daughters, Robyn, Samantha, and Megan.
